About This Place

Welcome to The Beehive Cafe & Kitchen, a delightful gem nestled at 19 Sea Ln, Rustington, Littlehampton BN16 2RD, United Kingdom. This charming café has steadily risen to acclaim for its welcoming atmosphere and a menu that celebrates both tradition and innovation in breakfast offerings. As a food reviewer of Grubbio, it is my pleasure to share my impressions of this inviting establishment.

From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted by a friendly team, eager to make your dining experience as enjoyable as possible. The Beehive prides itself on using fresh, local produce, and this commitment shines through in every dish. Their breakfasts are nothing short of a culinary hug, with options like the sumptuous Big Breakfast and the delicate Eggs Royale that are crafted to please both the traditionalist and the adventurous eater. I found the Eggs Royale particularly memorable, with a perfectly executed sauce that enhances the dish without overwhelming it.

An added highlight is their creative twist on the classic pancake with the Homemade Blueberry Pancakes, served with a dollop of local 'Rusty Bee' honey, creating a delightful balance of sweetness. The café's smoothies—such as The Red One and The Green One—are the perfect complements to a hearty meal.

Customer reviews consistently praise the cleanliness of the establishment and the cozy decor, which, though eclectic, contributes to the café's quirky charm. While some diners shared their thoughts on the quality of the food—the Heinz baked beans came under scrutiny—this feedback reflects the café's willingness to listen and improve. Feedback like this is not uncommon for establishments that aim for high standards.

The Beehive Cafe & Kitchen is more than just a place to eat; it’s a community hub. Many patrons return not just for the food but for the welcoming vibe that Michael and his team embody. Whether you're enjoying a scrambled egg on toast or sipping a flat white amidst the charming decor, you'll often find yourself feeling right at home.

For those with a sweet tooth, it’s worth trying the café’s renowned afternoon teas, featuring an array of delectable scones, sandwiches, and pastries that invite you to linger a little longer. Indeed, The Beehive is a testament to what a local café should aspire to be—great food, good service, and a place where everyone feels welcome.

So, whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by The Beehive Cafe & Kitchen; it just might become your new favorite spot!

Really love this place. I am a newish customer of only a couple of months. Booked a couple of tables there for groups of four or more. And always had a nice table. Staff and owner are lovely and so friendly. Tables are cleaned down properly after every guest. 2 x toilets spotless and one fully disabled accessible. I have only been there for breakfast. And sampled their big breakfast (full English) and fabulous Eggs Royale. Not many places get the sauce right. But these guys do! My children have eaten there twice. And they do a mini children’s bacon and egg breakfast. I love their bread / toast as it’s proper bread. My children were not keen. Also their menus state ‘Heinz baked beans’. Those beans are definitely not Heinz. That probably needs deleting from their menus to comply with trading standards. Beans were very bland. And everyone who had beans disliked them. That’s my only criticism. That and the erratic music choice. Which has varied from music torture to obscure. Please buy better beans, and subscribe to more upbeat universal music.

A perfect breakfast with a perfect service will 100% be back, biscoff pancakes with streaky bacon was top notch some of the best streaky bacon I have ever had.

Nice little cafe, though decor could do with a bit of a spruce or update. I ordered a breakfast which was nice ( I like that you can choose how to have your eggs). Wasn't a fan of the sausage but I'm quite fussy with my sausages....luckily my husband isn't quite so fussy as he already had 2 on his plate, but still managed to stuff 3 in his mouth! Took them better than I would have! Service was good. Shame the games on the table had pieces missing cos we love a good game of connect 4. May come back to try the cakes, they looked gooooood

Friendly, quirky local cafe with excellent quality food and coffee. Frequently changed unusual decorations (think Harry Potter or Alice in Wonderland!) and games on the tables.

My favourite local cafe. Michael and his team are very welcoming. Good service, great food, all cooked fresh, all local produce. I love their breakfasts, lunches, cakes, and teas. Favourites are hot chocolate, bacon sandwich, crumpets , lemon curd, coffee cake, and sausage sandwich. Their afternoon teas are amazing! So much choice, delicious scones, fab sandwiches, and fancies. I highly recommend Honeypot Cafe!

Very cute cafe. Food was very good. Liked the atmosphere. It was a bit quiter inside, which I enjoyed. Very friendly service. You can pay by cash or card. Vegan options are great.

Amazing cafe, many if not all ingredients locally sourced and the big breakfast tasted great. Lovely service from the owner too who really makes you feel welcome. Can't wait to come back for lunch, the menu looked very original

We enjoyed an afternoon tea at the Honeypot and the food was excellent. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Liked the games that were available on the tables too!
